I joined a Toastmaster club in October 2017, and ave been attending almost all the meetings since.
Our club is Impact Toastmasters Geneva, and is the only bilingual English-French club of the area.
From the main international site:
Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. Our organization has more than 357,000 memberships. Members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 16,600 clubs in 143 countries that make up our global network of meeting locations.
Since I joined, I gave my Ice-Breaker speech and my second speech from the manual, and participated in numerous Table Topics (short impromptu speech). I love to practice and benefit from more experimented speakers.
My main goal is to train to feel more confident on public speaking and the improvement has already been spectacular. I shared some of the tips I learned at Toastmasters during my WordCamp Lausanne 2018 talk (see more on the WordPress page).
I will soon start to shoot videos for my various projects, some of them live, and the confidence is a must.
I also plan to apply to give a TEDx talk somewhere in the future, as I have a message to share and need the idea to come across very well.
I also love to train on body language.
